Hi there, I’m Rachel!
When I was little I thought I would grow up to be Belle, from Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. While that still hasn’t happened yet, I’m known to be found frolicking through a field singing, “I want adventure in the great wide somewhere…”
The closest I got to being Belle was becoming a triple-threat (actor/singer/dancer) performer in New York City. I was pursuing this career (and working a myriad of other odd jobs) until the 2020 COVID pandemic hit.
When the theater industry came to a halt, I returned to my hometown in the Adirondacks to wait things out in the fresh air. One of my favorite pastimes became reading travel blogs and planning trips for when things opened up again. It took lockdown for me to realize there were so many other places I want to visit!
So I decided to start my own travel blog, and share things I’ve learned/am learning as a novice traveler. I hope to highlight authentic and budget-friendly experiences that will encourage others to explore as well!
